Beckham: Sneijder Would Fit United

David Beckham says that Wesley Sneijder would be the perfect replacement for Paul Scholes at Manchester United.
Sneijder has been linked to Old Trafford all summer after Scholes' retirement, along with Tottenham's Luka Modric and Arsenal's Samir Nasri, but a deal for the Inter Milan midfielder appears difficult to agree.
Inter want at least €35 million for the Dutch star, while he would command a weekly wage in excess of £190,000-a-week. However, if United were to bring him to the Premier League, Beckham believes they would reap the benefit.
''To replace Scholesy, they're going to have to get someone special," he told reporters. "There's a lot of talk about Sneijder and he's such a talented player, I'm sure he would fit right into a Manchester United team.
"He could do a job there, without a doubt. Scholesy is the one player they want to replace. He was such a great talent and he will be missed."
With young goalkeeper David de Gea brought in following the retirement of Edwin van der Sar, Beckham also thinks that United have done well.
"I've seen them bring in the young keeper, with great experience of playing in La Liga," he added. "He's got a huge space to fill because [Edwin] van der Sar was so successful, but I don't think that will be a problem.
"He's played at a good level in Spain and let's hope he does well because United have always had good keepers."
