Chelsea and Manchester United eyeing Serie A superstar worth €40m

Napoli will listen to offers for captain Marek Hamsik in the summer, with Chelsea and Manchester United both said to be interested in the Slovakian international.
Hamsik has been at the Serie A side since 2007, and has played over 230 games for the club, but he has struggled for form since returning from injury this season, with local media going so far as to say he is not happy under new boss Rafa Benitez.

Now, Corriere Dello Sport have claimed that the previously ‘untouchable’ midfielder could leave the club in the summer, with a reported price tag of €40m placed on the 26-year-old.

Chelsea and Manchester United have both been put on red alert as to the potential availability of the Slovak, according to the Daily Express, with both sides looking to strengthen this summer.

With four years remaining on his contract, Napoli remain in a position of power regarding their reportedly unsettled captain, and it remains to be seen if either Premier League club would be willing to spend heavily in order to prise him away from the Serie A side.

Man United Ready to Offer £400k a Week to Tempt £60m Pair Into Making Old Trafford Switch

Man United are ready to offer lucrative deals in order to land two of their top

summer targets. David Moyes is ready to stump up as much as £140k a week in a

contract offer that would make Southampton left-back the best paid teenager in

world football according to the Daily Star.

The Man United boss sees the 18 year old left-back as an ideal man to fill the void that will be left when

Patrice Evra, as expected, leaves the club this summer. The England international is considered one of the

hottest prospects in European football and has a whopping £30m price-tag. Similarly Moyes will wave the

cash in the direction of Bayern Munich’s Toni Kroos with Man United ready to offer the 25 year old

German international a huge £260k  a week deal, which dwarfs his current £60k a week salary. Kroos has

long been a target of the Premier League side and also has a £30m price-tag according to the Guardian. The

intelligent midfielder is seeking parity with Allianz Arena’s big earners but if he isn’t offered such a deal he is

well aware he can earn huge sums elsewhere.

However the lack of Champions League football could prove a stumbling block for Kroos, who was of

course part of the Bayern Munich side that won the competition last season.

Adil Rami offered to Manchester United after proposed move to AC Milan was stalled.

The clubs are yet to agree on a suitable deal

Manchester United have been offered Valencia defender Adil Rami after his proposed move to AC Milan was delayed due to disagreements.

The clubs have failed to agree on a £10m fee for the 28-year-old France international despite him being on loan at the Serie A club and a deal being outlined since October.

Meanwhile, David Moyes should not blame Manchester United’s failings this season on the quality of his squad, Everton boss Roberto Martinez claimed.

Moyes faces a hostile reception when he returns to Goodison Park and Martinez, who replaced Moyes at Everton last summer, raised the stakes by questioning the excuses given for United’s rapid decline.

United preparing bid for Song

Manchester United are reportedly preparing a move to sign Barca midfielder Alex Song. According to Goal, Manchester United are willing to spend £12.5m in order to land the ex-Arsenal midfielder, but they face competition from AC Milan, Atletico Madrid and rivals Liverpool. The Cameroonian is expected to leave the Camp Nou at the end of the season but United are reportedly in pole poisiton for the midfielder's signature as Moyes looks to bolster his midfield.

Moyes, who is also targeting Bayern Munich's Toni Kroos and Sporting Lisbon's William Carvalho is a long known admirer of Song and feels he would fit adequately into the team and can even fill in at centre back.

Song has featured in just 28 of Barcelona's 53 matches this season and has struggled to chieve regular first team football since his move from the Emirates. And despite there still being three years left on the 26 year-old's contract, Song may be tempted to call it quits.

The La Liga champions are no doubt looking to cash in on the move, and will hope to make the £15m back, which they spent to bring him to Spain.

FIFA however has imposed a transfer ban on the Catalan side but this would not disbable the club from selling players.

Barcelona vice-president Manel Arroyo said they will appeal against the ban and thatv their legal team are "working so that we'll be able to sign new players this summer"

United closing in on £30m deal for Shaw

Manchester United are edging closer to a £30 million deal for Southampton left- back Luke Shaw, which

would see them fend off Premier League rivals Chelsea for the youngster's signature. Rumours of United's

interest in Shaw have been rife throughout the season and several reports emerged on Wednesday claiming

the club are confident of tying up a deal for one of their main transfer targets. New manager David Moyes is

keen to revitalise a United squad which has under-performed throughout a disastrous maiden season in

charge and, while the Scot's future at Old Trafford still remains unclear, the club's hierarchy are beginning to

increase their efforts in order to bolster for next season.

Southampton have previously warned their Premier League rivals off Shaw, but with Patrice Evra's

anticipated departure from United at the end of the season, an attraction of regular first-team football could

prove vital in the chase to secure the 18-year-old's services.

Shaw is one of several names on Moyes' summer shopping list, with the club reportedly planning a £200m

overhaul in a bid to turn their fortunes around. With the club facing a first season in 19 years without

Champions League football, Moyes has long been linked with Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos.

Discussions have also been held with Sporting Lisbon over defensive midfielder William Carvalho, though

United are unwilling to meet his £37 million buy-out clause, but Borussia Dortmund's Ilkay Gundogan has

been ruled out after signing a contract extension with the Bundesliga side. United could also recoup a

significant amount of money in transfer fees with the club set for an unprecedented clear-out in the summer.

Captain Nemanja Vidic has already agreed to join Inter Milan while Evra, Shinji Kagawa, Rio Ferdinand,

Javier Hernandez, Nani, Anderson and Wilfried Zaha could also be on their way out.

Man Utd boss David Moyes watches Ezequiel Garay and Eliaquim Mangala in Portugal scouting mission

Manchester United boss David Moyes was on a double scouting mission in Europe last night. Moyes was accompanied by United assistant boss Steve Round and coach Jimmy Lumsden at Benfica's game against Porto in the Portuguese Cup. The United boss was running the rule over Benfica defender Ezequiel Garay, as well as Porto's Eliaquim Mangala, two players on his summer target list. With United skipper Nemanja Vidic leaving and Rio Ferdinand set to join him, Moyes is in the market for a centre-half to fill the void left by those two. Manchester City are also in the market for £20million-rated Mangala, while Garay would cost around £17m, although with his contract running out, United would hope to get him cheaper.

Man United Set to Confirm £35m Enforcer Signing

Man United have sealed the deal to sign highly rated Portuguese defensive midfielder William Carvalho with
Football Direct News claiming that the agreement will be officially announced by the Old Trafford club at the end of the current campaign.

David Moyes is to splash out £35m to land the Sporting Lisbon youngster, who’s form has helped his side mount a genuine Primeira Liga title challenge whilst also separating Portuguese big boys Benfica and FC Porto in the table.

His displays have also led to a call-up to the Portuguese national team set-up and will almost certainly see him secure a spot in Paulo Bento’s 2014 World Cup finals squad.

Moyes could well do with a steely presence in the centre of the park as attempts to use Belgian Marouane Fellaini in a holding role have thus failed to bear fruit.

One imagines that the Man United manager will look to bring in a number of additions this summer though the lack of a Champions League berth may well lead to some targets proving tougher to acquire than others.

Man United maintain a strong relationship with Sporting Lisbon, having signed the likes of Nani and Cristiano Ronaldo from the Estádio José Alvalade side.

United aim to secure Shaw deal

Manchester United move ahead of Chelsea for left-back's signature

David Moyes is aiming to do all buisness before the World Cup begins, with William Carvalho deal all but complete, he aims to sign Luke Shaw next.

With current left-back Patrice Evra's future in doubt, Moyes is ready to pay up to £30 million for Luke Shaw to fill the gap for the next decade. Chelsea were seemingly front-runners for Shaw's signature, but with the current form of Cesar Azpilicueta and the potential extension of Ashley Cole's contract, Shaw is worried that his first team opportunities will be limited.

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has publically said that he is confident that none of his squad will be sold. But Manchester United believe that they can persudae Shaw to leave, with their chief executive David Woodward attempting to complete the deal before the World Cup.

If United were to beat Chelsea for the left-back, it would be a statement of intent from United, who have struggled this season to regain champion status. Manchester United had also sent club scouts to watch Marco Reus in Dortmund's 3-0 victory against Bayern Munich, and are also hoping that they can persuade Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos to join, after Dortmund tied down Ilkay Gundogan to a new contract yesterday.
