Manchester United have been offered Valencia defender Adil Rami after his proposed move to AC Milan was delayed due to disagreements.
The clubs have failed to agree on a £10m fee for the 28-year-old France international despite him being on loan at the Serie A club and a deal being outlined since October.
Meanwhile, David Moyes should not blame Manchester United’s failings this season on the quality of his squad, Everton boss Roberto Martinez claimed.
Moyes faces a hostile reception when he returns to Goodison Park and Martinez, who replaced Moyes at Everton last summer, raised the stakes by questioning the excuses given for United’s rapid decline.
