Man Utd boss David Moyes watches Ezequiel Garay and Eliaquim Mangala in Portugal scouting mission

Manchester United boss David Moyes was on a double scouting mission in Europe last night. Moyes was accompanied by United assistant boss Steve Round and coach Jimmy Lumsden at Benfica's game against Porto in the Portuguese Cup. The United boss was running the rule over Benfica defender Ezequiel Garay, as well as Porto's Eliaquim Mangala, two players on his summer target list. With United skipper Nemanja Vidic leaving and Rio Ferdinand set to join him, Moyes is in the market for a centre-half to fill the void left by those two. Manchester City are also in the market for £20million-rated Mangala, while Garay would cost around £17m, although with his contract running out, United would hope to get him cheaper.
