Evra: Beware Our Amazing Youngsters

Patrice Evra has hailed the "amazing" young talents at Manchester United who came to the fore in the 3-0 thrashing of Tottenham Hotspur on Monday.

Danny Welbeck was the star of the show for United, scoring one goal and creating another, while Jonny Evans, Phil Jones andTom Cleverley all produced composed performances that belied their tender years.
The emerging group at United have earned comparisons to the last so-called "golden generation" who learned their trade at Old Trafford - the likes of David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt and the Neville brothers - and Evra believes the current bunch are poised to take the Premier League by storm.
"A lot of people talk about the academy here, and the young players showed what they can do," Evra said in the Daily Mail. "They have such composure, it is amazing. They want to prove to the manager they are ready to play in the first team.
"We have lost a lot of experience in Edwin van der Sar, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville, but you can see how the team is fresh and full of energy. The football we are playing is quick. It is up to the likes of myself, Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic to make sure these boys keep developing."
Meanwhile, Welbeck has warned United's strikers that he is coming for their first-team place. "There is no better feeling for a Manc kid than scoring for United," he said. "I want more if it. Tom Cleverley and I were both at the academy for more than ten years, so to come through and start in the first team is a massive achievement."
