Rooney Eyes Captaincy

Wayne Rooney will be back in action this weekend after recovering from a hamstring injury, and says he hopes to one day captain both Manchester United and England on a permanent basis as he develops his leadership skills.

Rooney, 25, captained his country in a friendly against Brazil in Doha and has also worn the armband in the absence of more senior team-mates for his club in the past.
"I've captained both on one-off occasions but obviously to get the two jobs full-time would be a great honour for me," said Rooney in quotes reported by several newspapers in England.
The striker believes he would do well if given the chance to lead from the front, adding: "We have got a lot of young players in the team, and you know they will watch what you are doing on the training pitch and in the matches.
"I have always worked hard. If I'm not happy with something, I let it be known. It's good for the younger players to see you still care and still want to win."
