Besiktas Swoop to Sign Bebe

Turkish club Besiktas have confirmed they are in negotiations with Manchester United over the possible transfer of out-of-favour forward Bebe.

Bebe, 20, joined United in a shock £7.4 million deal from Portuguese club Vitoria de Guimaraes last summer and has really struggled to make his mark at Old Trafford.

The Portugal Under-21 never played a game for Vitoria and was available for £125,000 from his old club Estrela da Amadora just months before he joined United and Sir Alex Ferguson admitted he had only seen the player on video.
Turkish news agency Dogan Haber Ajansi (DHA) report the deal will be an initial loan with a view to a £2 million permanent switch, which would represent a £5.4 million loss for United.
Although Besiktas confirmed negotiations have commenced they did not go into greater detail. "We have begun talks on the transfer of Manchester United's Manuel Tiago Dias Correira, 'Bebe'," the club announced.
With Aston Villa forward Ashley Young on the brink of completing a move to United to provide more options out wide it is expected that Bebe will be allowed to go out on loan.
Besiktas, who already have four Portuguese players in their ranks including Ricardo Quaresma and Simao Sabrosa - finished fifth in the Turkish Super Lig last season.
