Scholes Encourages Rooney to Stay

Paul Scholes has appealed to Wayne Rooney to stay at Manchester United, despite strong interest from Chelsea.

Rooney has been targeted by returning Blues boss Jose Mourinho, while Arsenal earlier this summer also associated with England forward.

However, Scholes believes Rooney will not run his career if he changed the company for one of their Premier League rivals.

"I do not think there's any better than Manchester United to play your football," said Scholes.

"It's up to Wayne - but he's on, key players and the players and fans want him to stay."

Meanwhile, the new Scholes insists United boss David Moyes is not under pressure to take the big players name in the weeks to come. The comments come on the back of two rejected bids for Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

Scholes believes the current squad is good enough to defend their crown in the state, told Sky Sports News:. "I do not think there is a lot of pressure She got a quality squad there, to have 18-20 quality players.

"Although Sir Alex Ferguson was there he wanted to sign two or three players each season's habit -. To increase thereafter, even if you've won the league.

"I'm sure David Moyes trying to get players -. And hopefully he'll get what she wants"
