United Without "Line Star"


Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson is expected to rest his key players at the confluence line against West Ham United in action the FA Cup third round replay at Old Trafford on Saturday.

After comfortably at the top of the Premier League with a seven-point advantage over their closest rivals, Manchester City, United aims to surpass the action before a visit to Madrid against Real Madrid in the opening knockout Champions League.

"I will continue in my squad rotation system even though we were a bit 'busy' in December, but I need to plan in advance to do so.

"After the action the FA Cup replay against West Ham, we will meet with Tottenham Hotspur. We hope to advance to the fourth round of the FA Cup against Fulham or Blackpool later.

"During this period, I have to take advantage of opportunities that are available before entering the new schedule with against Southampton and Fulham in England's Premier League game," said Ferguson.

Venomous striker Robin van Perise has exploded 17 goals in 22 league games, will be sidelined to make way for Wayne Rooney back with the squad after recovering from a knee injury.

Rooney is expected to participate with the Mexican star Javier Hernandez, who has not played with United when beating Liverpool 2-1 at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the West Ham manager, Sam Allardyce realize the threat that confronts the squad operations aim to provide stiff competition to the Red Devils.

"It is well known that United are a team of experienced enough in the FA Cup. Course it is an interesting match against them at Old Trafford.

"I hope we can create a success there before travel to Queens Park Rangers (QPR) in Premier League action with a mission to find the three points," he said.
