Ferdinand in Dilemma


Rio Ferdinand in dilemma after having been summoned to join the England squad at the 2014 World Cup qualifier against San Marino and Montenegro.

Ferdinand, 34, reportedly is considering the decision to retire at the international level, thereby rejected the offer to join the Three Lions squad.

Manchester United defender is listed again in the England squad for the first time since coach Fabio Capello to replace Roy Hodgson last year.

He will make an appearance to-81 on the international stage should accept the offer.

Nevertheless, Ferdinand may reject the offer after seeking advice from medical experts who claimed pressure United play for club and country can cause recurring back injury.

United manager Alex Ferguson and Ferdinand are in discussions with the medical officer of The Red Devils squad to see the proper training to be given to the player if he joins England.

Ferdinand admitted, practicing and playing with England in the absence of a specialist may give the risk of injury that can end his career.

Ferguson was certainly want the player to focus on his club.

"We need to make sure that he (Ferdinand) is fully recovered from a fitness aspect.

"We've done a search on it since two weeks ago and it seems that it affects. We need to look to all these things before he makes a decision," said Ferguson.

Ferdinand said to start receiving pressure from the medical officer and the United manager to reject the call join the England squad.

If Ferdinand join the Three Lions squad, it will cause anger Ferguson and at the same time, he wants to renew the contract with United.

However, if rejected calls Hodgson, he may not be called to eternity.
